How do you check a bookmaker’s licence in Ghana?
Look the operator up on the licensed operators page of the Gaming Commission of Ghana. The Commission was set up by the Gaming Act 2006 (Act 721) to regulate games of chance in the country. Its own FAQ tells players to check that list to see whether an operator is registered.
When we checked on 26 September 2026, the page listed each operator by trade name, type of operation and licence dates. For example, entries showed an issue date of 1 January 2026 and an expiry of 31 December 2026. Therefore, licences can lapse, so check again before you join.
If an operator is not on the list, it is not licensed by the Gaming Commission of Ghana. Players can sometimes still sign up with such offshore brands, but they are not regulated locally. As a result, complaints are harder to pursue.
Which payment methods should you look for?
Most players want to deposit and withdraw with mobile money. Look for MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money in the cashier, and check whether each method works for both deposits and withdrawals. In addition, note the minimum deposit and any fees, because they differ by brand.
Also check withdrawal rules before you deposit. Some bookmakers ask for identity documents before the first payout, so it is better to know in advance.
How do odds and markets compare between bookmakers?
Odds show the price of a bet, and small differences add up over a season. First, compare the same match across two or three bookmakers.
