Betting is for adults aged 18 and over. On Ghanaian Matchday, gambling content is information, not encouragement to bet. Treat betting as entertainment, never as a way to make money or solve money problems.
Keep it safe
- Only bet money you can afford to lose.
- Set a deposit limit and a time limit before you start, and stick to them.
- Never chase losses.
- Do not bet when you are upset, tired or drinking.
- Take regular breaks, and use the limit, time-out and self-exclusion tools at the operator.
Signs it may be a problem
- Betting more than you planned, or with money needed for bills.
- Hiding your betting from family or friends.
- Feeling anxious or irritable when you are not betting.
- Borrowing to bet, or betting to win back losses.
Where to get help
Speak to someone you trust, and consider contacting an independent support service. Useful starting points: BeGambleAware and Gambling Therapy, which offer free online support and advice. To check whether an operator is licensed in Ghana, see Gaming Commission of Ghana.
